You're right..Maybe it doesn't really fit Arch philosophy but don't
forget that Arch includes network-profiles by default and it
automatically configures wireless settings according to what you wrote
in the profile file.

If Arch supports profiles with wireless settings, than I think it should
also support ppp interfaces as well..
