You're absolutely wrong here. With your logic, if I made a package with the version: 9.4.1_prerelease it is going to be greater than 9.4.1, yes? Even though it's 100% obvious that it is a "PRERELEASE" The simple fact is that version comparison when you allow alphanumeric versions is 100% impossible to get right all the time.
