hm i was so like hoping this would solve this annoying issue that the "open with" option NEVER has a default application! Installed the thing and even rebooted the system ... still when i go to a link eg for .mpg file i only get the browse button to select the executable for the wished application capable of playing those files .... And no i don't want to do some download action options... all i want is that firefox knows a default application for a certain file type (if such app exists on the system naturally).
Hopefully someone knows a solution for this cos it's driving me crazy lately thanks in advanced Rodrigo Coacci wrote: > I've found today that Firefox depends heavily on /etc/mime.types and > or ~/.mime.types (for example, the Download Actions for type handling) > and I also found that installing the mime-types package solved some > issues related to it (like being able to select what to do with PDF > files!!!) that wasn't possible before.
