Yes, Infotrieve needs to know the ip for the computer using Ariel.

Sorry for the rant on getting libraries to use the current ip, but I have had
to take too much time double-checking non-receipts. I train staff to check
those details on every request for quality assurance.

Paul,

Thanks for the response!

When you say Ariel needs to know do you mean the Vendor?

Buddy

Hi Buddy,

This ip change by IT has happened to us twice in my 2.5 years here at McNeese.
GOOD LUCK!

Ariel needs to know the need IP.

Change:
your constant data on your borrowing requests,
info in Policy Directory
post change to every/any ILL listserv you can :ILL-L, Ariel, ILLiad, etc.

The last time, I emailed the regular lenders of the change.

While I noted the change in our borrowing notes, we didn't receive half the
ariel deliveries for months after the ariel ip change. I started to post a note
("New ARIEL IP: xxxxxxxxx) after the journal title in copy requests.

I checked WRS status for months, and when I emailed libraries of non-receipt
and informing of new arielIP as of (date), I kept being getting replies that
that wasn't the ariel ip they had on file.

Our last change was 1/15/2008, and in the past month we still had two
non-receipts because a library had an old ariel ip on file.

Subject: [ARIE-L] Ariel IP Address changes at our institution

I received notification from our IT area that our external IP addresses are
changing throughout our school. I was also told that our Ariel application
will be one of those getting a new IP address.

Are there any impacts that I should be aware of? Are there configuration files
that I need to ensure get changed correctly?

I am VERY new to Ariel and my predecessor did not leave very good notes so any
help would be great.

Thanks in advance!
