For a few weeks we had the problem (Ariel 3.4) that Ariel would shut down the first time we forwarded an article to a patron's email. We would have to reboot the terminal to reconnect the scanner. An IT person said it sounded like something had gotten corrupted and he suggested a reinstall, so we reinstalled 3.4 and the problem seems to have gone away. We reinstalled the 3.4 updgrade from the infotrieve website directly, without removing anything, and it worked fine. Ed Helmrich Iona College
