At a previous institution we experienced difficulties emailing Ariel docs to any "off-campus" addresses. Our IT folks checked into the problem, and discovered that our email antivirus server was tagging all outgoing emails as scanned, and they were getting hung up in the outgoing queue. They disabled the tagging for Ariel, and it started working properly. I used a gmail account as my off-campus testing location, and it worked just fine. (He reported that the same function was also causing problems with other auto-generated emails being sent off campus, not just with Ariel. When sending to a library that uses GMail, I email the article to myself at work from the Ariel machine, then I resend it to the requesting library from my Outlook account, using Outlook to attach the PDF.
