I think "thazhuvudhu" cannot be a comedy song. Your doubt is very valid, but its more a romantic number.
Horror movies canot have songs. Agreed. But still it has lot of scope for back-ground scores and special effects. The music has to bring the audience to the edge of the seat and bring the "heart-to-mouth", which is a big challenge!
Also the scope of music depends on the story line. This is true not only for Horror theme, but for any type of movie.
