Ash, Abhi shoot scenes on vintage train
The Times of India

Hubli: Final touches were given for the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s film Guru, with stars Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan shooting a song sequence for the film across Banapu r- Somapur railway track, about 40 km from Hubli here on Sunday.

It was virtual chaos with over a thousand people converging to have a glimpse of Ash and Abhi, who danced to the tune of the song on a moving train.

People were seen waiting for the arrival of the Bollywood stars since 5 am, but they made their appearance only around 7 am, when there was enough sunshine to meet the requirements of the camera. The film unit, headed by director Mani Ratnam, was visibly upset as the shooting got delayed because of minor hiccups, sources said.

The director meticulously used the steam engine, which had been hired from the Railway Museum at Delhi, for the shots. Guru, a story that revolves around the first war of Indian independence, to be released in June or July, was partly picturised in the historical backdrop of North Karnataka, while most part of the film has already been shot in North India and Turkey.
