Also, India did not have a dual citizenship concept those days. Regarding ARR being the first composer...it is false...because Pt.Ravi Shankar was once nominated (for Gandhi) and if i am not wrong, another classical musician (could be Ustad Ali Akbar Khan or Ustad Vilayat Khan) was also nominated for some film made in 60s. I am not sure though.
