It was written for the Goel Cine Corporation's 1957 film "Narsi Bhagat", composed by MD Ravi, rendered by singers Hemant Kumar, Manna Dey and Sudha Malhotra And the poet is ----->>>>> Gopal Singh Nepali. The way those who have scene Devanand, Nanda starrer Hum Dono might recall that in the song Allah Tero naam, Ishwar tero naam, at one place, Lata ji voice follows another pattern whereas the face of the screen (Nanda?) that was supposed to be singing this song, her lips were following a different pattern altogether. Anyway. Local newspaper reports that film makers have agreed that this was a mistake. btw, I checked the draft script link posted in this list today and found that it was not a mistake of the original author, or the script writer. That draft doesn't mention the song "Darshan Do Ghanshyam". On page 33, that question is about some song "Chalo Ri Murali". (I have removed all references of the film name so that oscar voters don't find this mail of mine highlighting the error. :-) Of course, they would find it elsewhere.)
