As of me, rahman is the only person in bollywood who really gives the regional
touch in all his film. mostly all music directors would give their special
attention, if the film belongs to their own state...

but a.r.rahman gives all kind of music according to the requriement of film...
be it

gujathi - dhandia music in dil he dil mein

bengali - durga pooja festival music in Nethaji -the forgotton hero

kashmiri - BGM of roja

rajasthani - songs in Meenakshi as well as Mangal pandey

Hydarabadi - songs in meenakshi

punjabi - songs in Legend of Bhagat singh

Rural Kutch - songs in Lagaan

Ultra modern kolkata - Fanaa in Yuva

malayali - Jiya jale in Dilse

pure classical - songs in Kandukondein, Indra

rural Folk tamil - songs and BGM of Sangamam, Kizhaku Cheemaiyele

1940s filmi style - Songs of Zubeidaa, Iruver

For english people but of bollywood style - Bombay Dreams

Pure English style - Lord of the Rings & Elizabeth

and los and lot.....

I think nobody in india had given these much different styles.
and also people who belongs to that regions would feel really about their
nativity while hearing the songs..
we can discuss detailly about each style in many weeks.....

Regards,

Hello all,

Can anybody throw some light into AAR's music that had flavours from different
regions of india? For example, any song that had marathi flavour, gujarathi,
rajasthani etc.

Thanks!
Harsha
