Ramesh, in the past I have admired your views and sense of humor, but in this
case I will disagree. And my point is much larger than just this interview, I
chime with what AR said. It is a given that the organizing committee has messed
up, we all know it, and much thanks to the media to have focussed on it. But,
the media also has a selfish interest in this. They want to sensationalize it
and milk every drop of advantage out of this. Given that the games are still 45
days away, and the games have not been cancelled in India, there is still hope.
Any country which hosts this games is proud of what they can do and we too
should be proud. Infact our media also is a part of our country and they should
at some point stop the negativity about the org committee messing up and play a
constructive role in the games being successfull eventually. That is not
happening and this lady reporter is also in the same mould. She still wants to
milk and overzealously report the negativity, when the need of the hour was
some
positive reinforcement that we can still do it !

AR pointed exactly this out when he said he was in London and felt the media
reporting to be just conveying a negative tone whereas he himself has seen a
lot
of positives in what is happening. This is my larger point.

For what it's worth, I think she asked valid questions. Perhaps her tone could
have been more respectful. The preparations for CWG have been in shambles.
Here's an article that sums it up. And if the media was informed that the song
would be presented, then they have every reason to be disappointed and
uncharitable in their reporting if the song was not ready.

It's not honest reporting to paint a rosy picture when the ground realities are
something else.

she was just wailing like a baby.... I think she took offense to what AR said
that there is a lot of negativity from the media and he humbly requested the
media to be a part of the games and project a positive image globally. She
started off by saying that the games preparations were in shambles only 45 days
away and now even the song is not being released...blah blah...later she says
the invite to the press said that the song will be unveiled and that is not the
case and why are they just saying the media should be positive when they are
not
doing anything on time.....
