Subject: [arr] Re: V K Malhotra not impressed with Rahman's CWG theme song

What I don't understand is why people compare the theme song to 'Waka Waka',
which in my humble opinion was quite mediocre. A theme song needn't be all
upbeat and sing-along-ish. A theme song needn't have enthusiastic beats. A
theme
song can be like any other song, all that matter is that it represents the
theme
of the games.

The theme of CWG and their tagline says is 'Come out and play' and I believe
AR's song resonates well with that theme.

This [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKikKRPiaXE] was the theme song for the
Asiad that was held in Delhi, 1982. Now tell me if it has anything upbeat about
it. It captures the essence of the Asiad quite well, nothing up-beat about it,
but a very good song.
