I would just say that if he is not appreciated for his work and people join 
hand to slam n bulldoze him, he should stop doing work for them (as he will be 
able to judge who is good and who has tht fake smile on their faces). He is not 
at loss either. He has already established himself as a mass which of course 
certain group of people are waiting to destroy it for their own cord. It 
happens everywhere. Everyone wants to be popular today.
