Jack:

It is either 2048 or 4096 characters.  Carey gave you a good suggestion on a workaround.

Subject: Re: Does $PROCESS$ have a character Limitation using Solaris 9

All,

I had a question on how $PROCESS$ works on a Solaris OS.  I have a perl script that I call using a $PROCESS$ that performs a bunch of parsing for the contents of a field.  Is their a limitation on how much can be passed and returned to a $PROCESS$?  I noticed if I have an Active Link with a character field that contains 12,000 characters that runs the same perl command using the following:

$PROCESS$ @@: /usr/bin/perl/parse.pl $field$

It returns the correct 11,900 lines of characters. (As Expected)

If I run the same command in a filter: $PROCESS$ /usr/bin/perl/parse.pl $field$, then it only returns about half of the text.

If their is a limitation, can someone recommend a workaround with how I can return the parsed field into Remedy?

Thanks,

Jack
