We are in the same boat. We need to Authenticate with Common Access Cards (CAC). (The CAC has PKI installed on it.)
We are upgrading from 5.1.2 to 6.3 and then we will try to figure the authentication issue out. I got a bit confused when I read through the SSO information. I am hoping that it will make more sense when we actually try to implement it. My fear is that SSO just authenticates to the Windows login, not the CAC, PKI, or smart card as in your situation.
