You are correct!  I can use the default 'Remedy' mailbox to send email
and have the FROM and REPLY TO addresses dynamically set to the user
that last modified the ticket.  Now, I don't need to create additional
mailboxes in the 'AR System Email Mailbox Configuration' form.  Stephen
is happy.

The other solution also worked - disabling the 'AR System Email Mailbox
Configuration Check Duplicates' filter.

several filters/escalations, all works as expected.
