I am pretty sure I had heard something to the effect that it does work - for e.g. if you were on a flight or a field service person and had no access to the application, you could update it while flying or on the road and those updates would auto sync once connected to the network.
Let me talk to the person who told me this & I'll revert back to this thread with what I learn. With ver 9 (I believe, may need to double check), MyIT/SmartIT is based on html5 framework and they lost the ability to work off-line and get it to sync. So that's not going to work, as it's essential for us to be able to work in a secluded environemtn away from network connectivity (and to be able to sync when connectivity is established). We're in the process of doing that, but so far it's not looking promising. Need some alternatives if this falls through. We have a need for the mobilie client to work offline and sync when a secured network is available. Currently we're using MobileReach, which has be working well, however the security requirements at the client have changed and direct traffic to a port will no longer be allowed. They need any third party tool to be able to go through the proxy, which MobileReach is limited on. BMC Mobility is another option that was explored. While it has offline capability now, with the introduction of MyIT/SmartIT they lost the ability to work offline and get it to sync afterwards. So the million dollar question is, what other tools are there that will accomplish the task.
