We were running the 5.1.2 Mid-Tier with 1.4.2_07 with no problems.
Unfortunately we since upgraded to Mid-Tier 6.3 so I can't answer for
the _13 patch with 5.1.2. Mid-Tier 6.3 has not had any problems with
1.4.2_13.

Subject: Java JDK/SDK versions under ARS 5.1.2

Does anyone who is still running ARS 5.1.2 in production on Windows 2000
have it running properly over a 1.4.2_13 JRE/JDK?? How about the 6.3
mid-tier?? Our security people are frothing at the mouth over some new
Java exploit and want us to be on Java 1.4.2_13, which is what we have
been installing on our new 7.x servers. Our 5.1.2 servers are still on
1.4.1_02, and I have NO CONFIDENCE that any Java application from BMC
Remedy will run properly on any version of Java except the one that it
was developed against. Since you have to uninstall the old Java and
then install the new, this isn't going to be downtime-free, quick-fix
anyway. Just wondered if anyone has a "success" story yet.
