This instruction has been in arinstall script as long as I can remember.
They mean that you need to manually edit the script that automatically start arsystem if the server restarts. The startup file is probably in /etc/init.d/arsystem. A better solution is to link /etc/init.d/arsystem to /<your_install>/bin/arsystem. Then you only has one place to modify -- Jarl On 4/12/07, Dwayne Martin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hi everyone, I used the "ar_install" program to upgrade our arsystem to Patch 2, installing as non-root (Linux server, ARS 7.01, Oracle 10.2 db, previously Patch 1). At the end it said to open a session as root and "- Merge the content from the startup file /opt/remedy/bin/arsystem into the system startup file." I couldn't figure out what that meant, so I quit. But the patch seems to have been successful anyway. Any idea what they are talking about?
