Andy, Rename your .csv file to a .txt file.
Open Excel File: Open: name of the file. Use the delimited option and ensure that the Text field delimiter of " is set. At this point you should be able to read the data as it was produces Ron Fariss AIG Technologies Service Desk Automation 713-831-2365 (Office) 281-782-0979 (Mobile) -----Original Message----- From: "Action Request System discussion list(ARSList)" [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of "Mayfield, Andy L." You can't see it when viewing the .csv in excel, but when viewing in a text editor you can see that some of the paths are being enclosed in "". From what I can tell, it seems to be doing this to the paths that contain ","'s. It makes sense that it would since it is a , delimited file. It sees the "," in the cell and encloses the field in "'s. Now I have to figure out a way around it. So far I have been unsuccessful, but at least I know what and why it is doing it. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get around this? >Andy L. After closer examination I have found that it only does this to approximately 30% of the records. I can not find any pattern to it and it appears to be totally random at this time. I am exporting data from Remedy to .csv, making some modifications then importing back into Remedy via the import tool. After the import the "\"'s are missing from the paths on about 30% of the records. I have tried creating another temp char field and importing it, but I got the same results. >Andy L.
