Dwayne, TWO_TASK variable is required if you're connecting to a remote database.
There is a history of a bug in the install scripts with the password for aradmin. In certain versions, you were prompted for the new password if you had changed it. Issue was that the default password was hard coded into the rest of the script and ignored the one you entered. It's been fixed in most places but I did run into it again not too long ago with either a 6.3 or 7.0.1 install. I just happened to pick Share during the install process and there it was again. I took all of your advices and it worked. Unfortunately I don't know which bit of advice actually made the difference. (I was too eager to get this working to do a controlled experiment.) I set the "TWO_TASK" variable (which I thot was only necessary if you have two ar systems on the same machine), and I reset the password to "AR#Admin#". Neither of these steps were necessary in the test environment, but if it works I'm not going to argue with success. Thanks again!
