Yes the turnaround time for most CMDB class creation processes can take more
than a few beers to complete..

Any idea what is the backend process that happens when you hit the update
button? Is it the same as the older version where this had to be run from
the command line? Or is it different from the older version (more bells and
whistles) in any way?

Joe:

I'm just back from CMDB training so forgive the freshman response - I
believe the functionality of the utility has been replaced with a new field
on the SHR:SchemaNames form. Find the form's entry, change the value of
"Has Asset UI" to Yes, and then save it. It's rumored to take some time to
finish.

Subject: CMDB: cmdb2asset utility for CMDB version 2...

I have a utility, handed at a training class, to create Asset forms for new
asset types in case there isn't one for a new class that needs to be
created.. this was the cmdb2asset.exe utility available for Windows to be
run from the command line.. This utility was however for V1.0 and V1.2 of
the CMDB application..

Is there a similar utility for Version 2 of the CMDB application?

Cheers

Joe
