this would be ugly...but you could create a display only form, call it a control panel, with maybe a drop down that had options of 'Submit', and 'Search' then a set of 5 buttons that would have open actions to the various forms in the mode specified in the drop down...or better yet...a drop down to choose which form you want, and a drop down for which mode you want it in, then a single button that uses advanced workflow to open the form in the mode you want...it wouldn't be exceedingly pretty...but it would certainly work.
