Manjari, That was our strategy when we upgraded from 5.1.2 to 7.0.1P3 and it caused us a tremendous amount of grief. It worked in the past to keep an older version of the user tool but with this combination it was terrible. Something in the login process would cause issues and threads would generate once the error was produced. Once it generated the max number of threads to our oracle database we stopped working. We were restarting remedy services 10-12 times a day. Working with bmc it took us 3 weeks to figure out it was the user tool and once we starting upgrading them the problem went away. You should find numerous posts under my name regarding our upgrade from June, 2007.
