Provided the network cable remained the same and there is only one interface - sounds like DHCP release time and the DHCP remember by MAC settings - or someone is going into the DHCP Server and doing a forced "release" on the range of settings. I know that some DHCP Servers have oddities when updates to DHCP settings occur causing funny things like this to happen...
