I've been holding back, simply because I have been called rude for
replying to stupid questions with requests for more information. I
think it is rude and inconsiderate of people to ask a question of the
list without the courtesy of even identifying yourself. Asking busy
professionals questions without providing basic information about your
system environment.

When asking a question of the list it is appropriate to provide a little
information about yourself and your environment.

An example of the polite and professional way to ask this question would
be:

Can someone please tell me how to capture the LAN ID when I am using
XXXXXX

My environment is:

ARS 6.3 Patch 18
HD 6.0
Oracle 10 w/9 libraries
Oracle on a remote server
