UNCLASSIFIED To me, the purpose of this list is the capability to reach out to like minded professionals to pick their brains when undocumented/creative/inventive workflow is requested. For "has any one seen this error before" issues. For help to be pointed to Remedy docs where the workflow might be culled. Being able to read about other developers' experience.
Every contract is its own adventure. Workflow designed for one agency may never be used by another. Some workflow, you never get to design. Having the list to turn to has always been a timesaver, often a lifesaver. The bare minimum information a requester should provide is their ARS environment - server OS, app version, patch level etc. Workflow for one application is not support by all applications. I do not believe the purpose of this list is for another developer to do my work for me so that I can get paid. Well put and my thoughts as well Claire, When I see Gok's type of posting, I can not hit the delete key fast enough. I love to help people when they spend a little upfront time, providing some details and can articulate it. I've been holding back, simply because I have been called rude for replying to stupid questions with requests for more information. I think it is rude and inconsiderate of people to ask a question of the list without the courtesy of even identifying yourself. Asking busy professionals questions without providing basic information about your system environment. When asking a question of the list it is appropriate to provide a little information about yourself and your environment. An example of the polite and professional way to ask this question would be: Can someone please tell me how to capture the LAN ID when I am using XXXXXX My environment is: ARS 6.3 Patch 18 HD 6.0 Oracle 10 w/9 libraries Oracle on a remote server Gok Where You Work -----Original Message----- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of gok's Sent: Wednesday, November 12, 2008 7:40 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: how can I capture LanID ?
