Jason,

You really need to get some sleep. More tutorials and some repeat sessions in
the morning. Sorry we couldn't get Mark back for a repeat session only because
he's getting on a plane in the morning.

Congrats John and team! You beat the core technology in doing really nice web
UI (for non IT people) a few years back and your new Tasking innovation is
exciting for back end integrations.

Mark Gemmell may just be my new hero. The concepts in his presentation can be
game changing for a Service Desk working within Remedy (I went straight back to
my room to code some before the party). No wonder BMC took interest in your
methods.

Not to undercut Doug's presentation. There should be an award for most
fun/thinking out of the box session. Glad to hear you get to do it again. We
tend to get so wrapped up in RKM, SRM, WO, IM, PM, CM, AM, CMDB, RE, AIE, PITA,
RTFM, PEBKAC that we forget there are fun and still useful things we can do
with Remedy. It was a refreshing session. And thank you so much for sharing
the code/data (I already downloaded it).

Now for the Celebration... Dan, Phil (rock star), Lenny, Joel and crew, great
job! The band was a great fit and there is no better way to relax with great
people.

Now a little bit of fun dev work before bed (1 am) and that Twinkie on the desk
next to me is starting to call my name.

Hi!

There are a few minutes left before the start of tonight's "social event" at
Body English, the hotel's night club, so i thought you might appreciate a bit
of update. Heck, I can't get a beer until 6:45!

Today started off with the Innovator awards, in which each of the vendors with
a booth at the conference got chance to present a brief summary of their
company and principal products. Some of the presentations were elaborate with
video and music, most were a bit more restrained, and several were presented by
their respective CEO, CTO or CMO's. Kinetic Data Systems received the
conference Innovator Award, with John Sundberg accepting and calling most of
the staff to the stage. Kinetic supplied the software used to accept
conference registrations, so many of us have used Kinetic Request without
knowing it.

The balance of the day has been filled with fascinating sessions. I spent time
learning what's new in Developer Studio and in the 7.5 and 7.6 releases. In
particular the Best Practice Views in the ITSM applications will be well worth
the effort to upgrade, IMHO. Mark Gremmler talked about a way to integrate VoIP
using the mid-tier which is pretty cool.

And yes, I gave a presentation too, showing a way to use the Google Chart API,
Google Gadgets and making Skype calls from inside a Remedy application, among
other things. As promised, I am releasing the Remedy DEF and ARX files
necessary to make all of the things in that presentation work as my gift to the
ARSLIST, and you'll find them at http://public.me.com/doug.blair/WWRUG09. Use
them as thought-starters, and as-is, but feel free to ask for help off-list
getting them going. You'll need to customize the server name and few other
little bits....

As for that beer, I guess I'll only get one or two, as I've been asked to give
the talk again tomorrow morning. Early. And with proper screen resolution. Very
flattering to be asked, but so much for late night

Doug
