The X and the Y refer to the field cooridantes. Each field on a form has an X and Y vlaue for its position.
I just tested this process and it worked for me. Added a new view to an existing form and called it ARNotification. Created a Filter that would perform a notification action on modify. The notification sends and email with selected fields. The email that goes out has the fields in the same order as they appear in the ARNotifcation view.
