Thanks Peter, the problem is where I am is almost imposbile to know where the administrator are, let alone ask them for the sa pasword.

Damn!! Now can I carry on with the instalation using the Windows only authentication (althought our database is mixed mode) and then try and fixed the problem later?!? Also does anyone have the sql for fixing this..i.e creatting the user, role, making dbowner etc... sorry but need to get done completed withing an hour and do not have time.
