Gentle readers,

Is anyone else as bothered by the increasing amount of re-re-re-quoted text,
graphic signatures, links to off-topic websites, etc, as I have become? Maybe
I'm just grouchy today, but it seems to me we are getting a larger proportion
of non-text material in this email list recently, and I think that makes it
more difficult to extract the useful content. We're still getting the signal,
but the noise is going up.

Doug's guidelines for posting to the ARSLIST

PLEASE DO

Post your own questions, answers, comments, experiences about anything
dealing with the AR System, BMC products, third-party products and integrations

Trim other people's earlier responses from your own mail, unless it's
very brief.

Use plain text when possible. Some common sense here. If your reply is
easier to understand when formatted as a table, use one.

Avoid elaborate "stationary," pictures, graphics, animations, links and
attachments other than when necessary to illustrate your contribution to the
discussion (e.g. screen shots)

A few years ago we had a periodic Do's and Don'ts posting from someone (I think
it was Claire Sanford, but I am at this moment too overloaded to look it up)
that was quite helpful in keeping us on track.

Thanks!

Doug
