At the SVT definition, if set at advanced mode there is a check box that you can use:
Reset goal: When some conditions are met, the current measure is closed and a new one starting from 0 is created. That means that a single request can create multiple SVT measures. The reset goal condition is defined at the data source. Using the reset goal condition you can measure if one group has taken more than 8 hours to go to In Progress state. But you won't know which group has been. To know it you need separate SVT for each case.
