Not knowing what version Mid-Tier and what OS, Web Server, and Java we can only give general help.
I personally have no problems running ARS and Mid-Tier in a production environment with all logs enabled. My setup is Tomcat (v5.5) on Linux with Java (1.5x) running ARS 7.6.04 SP3 (both ARS and Mid-Tier). For debugging a Web Service you will definitely want at least Cache, Session Management, Web Services, Qualifications and Expressions, and Servlet checked in the Mid-Tier Log Settings. I run Log Level=Fine, Viewer=File, and Format=Detailed Text. What type of error are they getting. Is it a SOAP Fault/Axis Fault error, or some HTTP error that may be coming from the web server itself?
