Straight forward case of running the installer. SP2 to SP4 has only bug fixes and no added features.
I have done this mostly on Windows with no gotchas or anything to report. Without which it is only possible to give you very generalized information. One advise that will work irrespective of what your architecture and environment is, is that you got to give it a whole lot of more memory and processing power than your previous version. I have other than that not run into anything 'major' that's worth talking about (considering that everyone these days knows you got to prepare your apps if they have been customized, to compare the differences to create an overlay layer).
