Hi Joe, You get my vote ! We have just launched our first mid-tier (v8.1). I now understand the pain of 'cache flushing'. I believe it actually affected the whole server today preventing clients from connecting also. We do still use v7.5/7.6 client. We just migrated our new production server last weekend so this is still very new experience.
Having been used to putting changes in anytime without any effect other than users not seeing them until they next logged in, there was never a performance hit. Now I have to say that the mid-tier screams and is wildly fast so I am happy about that. Of course I have to work through a list of little oddities that don't work exactly the same as in the client.
