Um...where to start. You can't upgrade - as far as I know - from 7.6.03 to 8.1.
You first have to upgrade to 7.6.04 - but prior to that you have to do the whole BPCU utility to convert any customizations you have to overlays and/or deal with them according to the guidelines BMC gives.
