They will make sure the equipment is activated and set up the equipment for the data to go through the servers at client. They will work with potential troubleshooting as well. Technical Skills: OSI/PI, RS232, J1939, MODBUS, server administration, and overall familiarity with industry data collection standards. Candidate Responsibilities: Summary: The main function of an Infrastructure/Systems Administrator - Specialized is to install, configure, and support software and tools that are specialized utility programs utilizing software packages or proprietary software languages including integration tasks for in-house developed systems and/or purchased software solutions within the technical infrastructure of the organization. A typical systems administrator is responsible for monitoring the network to ensure availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance and issue resolution. Job Responsibilities: Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations. Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary on/off-shift and during weeknds. Configure, monitor and maintain email applications or virus protection software. Work with vendors on integration of purchased application solutions. Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage one’s time as well as well as being a collaborative team member. Ability to identify, interpret and evaluate system and network requirements. Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue. Fully knowledgeable of computer hardware and software and its related infrastructure components and/or operating environment identified in the assignment requirements. Teradata, Websphere Application Server, Tomcat Application Server, Networked Attached Storage (NAS), Tivoli Storage, Management (TSM), .Net performance, Citrix, Java performance, BMC Remedy, Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required. 3-4 years experience required.
