With the posts flying back and forth on whether things should be restored in
Asbury or not, I'd love to hear what people think of rebuilding these
structures - whether entirely from scratch or from taking whatever's still
usable and going from there.

I'm talking about structures like the Casino. It would almost certainly be
far cheaper to simply rebuild the entire structure than it would be to
restore it. As somebody that is a giant hockey fan, I love going to Madison
Square Garden but I know that this isn't the same Garden that my father went
to and not the same that his father had either. Would it really be so bad
to recreate the Casino again? This isn't the first Casino. Due to storms
or fire at least one or two Casinos were destroyed.

For me, I would simply love to see Asbury Park's boardwalk return to
brilliance. I am just old enough to remember the buildings in use but not
old enough to remember them as incredibly vibrant places, yet I believe that
buildings like Convention Hall and the Casino are part of the very fabric of
Asbury Park. I've lived in many of the beach towns around here and none of
them have anything resembling these buildings in the beachfront area.
Asbury stands alone. That's one of the reasons it has attracted people from
throughout the world. If we are forced to recreate the buildings out of
financial necessity, is that really so bad?

Or would we prefer to lose them all by sticking to the idea of restoration
when it may simply not be feasible? Or approachable by Asbury Partners?
