True, they are the way they are because of the city's inability to maintain them. That however, has a number of causes.
Let me say right up front that there are few, if any, for-profit ventures that the Casino could accommodate to justify tens of millions of dollars in restoration. Certain not-for-profit facilities however, that could raise the money, for instance, the NJMHOF, could work. There is also the possibility that numerous grants could be obtained and the buildings restored in phases. The first step however, is to WANT to preserve and restore these gems. You don't seem to. Other towns would kill to have these architectural masterpieces in their borders. > Yahoo!
