The excitement about the pending demolition of C-8 is very strange. The
joke is on Asbury Park. The reality is, the building to replace it will
be TWICE as big as the one coming down.
The steel frame we have been looking at for 20 years is only a
partially completed build out, one tower of 12 floors. The finished
product was be two towers of 16 and 10 floors.
All this hype about demolition is misguided, the end result will be a
building TWICE as big and still cover the entire block sidewalk-to-
sidewalk. What's to be excited about?
