While I know many of the nswers are tongue in cheek, you miss the point. We can agree to abide by the rules if we know what the rules are. While it is a purported NJ state rule to not park within 25 feet of a corner, it is 20 feet in NY (never seen it enforced). And while ignorance of the law is no defense, there is something just wrong with citation by ambush. Painted curbs or modest signs or some other solution that meets the majority's aesthetics can be worked out. As for using appraisal skills, while I may say ceiling heights are APPROXIMATELY 16 feet, I can not approximately break the law. There was no measurement of the 25 feet. The officer has no idea EXACTLY how far away the cars were (before he brought the tape wheel). Remember that the next time you get a speeding ticket. I'll give you a freebie. Plead not guilty and defend yourself. They can NEVER prove it. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Something is new at Yahoo! Groups.
