Read the old posts from around Aug'01. I predicted all this a full 5 years ago. The redevelopment plan was not PLANNED. it was a bankruptcy settlement that violated the publics rights. There was no City Planner on staff at the time and the City gave more rights to Asbury Partners then they were entitled to under the Plan in force at the time. All the current issues of Historc Assets being destroyed/neglected, over dependence on residential zoning, lack of job creation, eminent domain, no signifigant new ratables to date, a beachfront that looks like a cartoon.....are all the result of inexperianced leadership being taken advantage of.
