Hello [EMAIL PROTECTED],

In reference to your comment:

I may be one of the only ones on this board who actually live in town (for over 45 years)...been though the good and bad..

I can match those credentials very closely.but have a different take.

Re:

.just a question for you gary...have you ever paid property taxes or rented a home in asbury? yea thats what i thought...you sure do have alot to say for an OUT OF TOWNER!!! please dont say WE when you talk about asbury anymore, it is an insult to the LONGTIME tax payers here...sam 8th ave resident

I've often appreciated critiques from non-residents and ex-residents (not the white "flighters" though), especially when their comments show some vision for what AP could be or a fond remembrance of what it once was; when I hear them say "we," I understand the connection and am not insulted.

On the other hand, I sense that some long time residents became jaded or cynical because of all the false starts and were limited by a sense of deja vu.

Seems to me that a lot of the renewed energy and passion in the past several years came mostly  from the so-called "newbies" or "carpetbaggers" who didn't have that much baggage.

Re:
.i voted for loffredo, sanders, and bruno and i will continue to vote for them until they are through with the job they started 6 years ago..

We also share the same voting record.  One of the above is a personal friend.  The other two I do not know personally, but at least one of them seems to have gone to the Appalachia School of Public Relations. (No offense to any Appalachians here for that stereotype :-) )  All three might want to reconsider if they really benefit from being allied with the "pen" of a certain columnist.

Re:

it does not suprise me, you are full of Sh#&y ideas...when are you going to learn that nobody is listening to you and thank god that they are not..

The Trenton vision sounded pretty creative to me.  Whether anything visionary can be completed here is yet to be seen.  So I'll be listening while I keep "uncle's"  advice in mind.

"My uncle ordered popovers from the restaurant's bill of fare.

And when they were served, he regarded them with a penetrating stare . . .

Then he spoke great Words of Wisdom as he sat there on that chair:

"To eat these things," said my uncle, "you must exercise great care.
You may swallow down what's solid . . .
BUT . . . you must spit out the air!"

And . . . as you partake of the world's bill of fare, that's darned good advice to follow.

Do a lot of spitting out the hot air.
And be careful what you swallow."

Cordiali saluti,

gary, are you kidding me? southside johnny cafe? you wanna make southside the man
himself puke? dont you remember the rising fiasco? bruce wrote a letter to the tri-city
asking the people in charge of the city and redevelopment to kindly not name any streets,
statues, bars, cafes, or hotdog stands after him or his songs. do you realize that bruce and
southside are the streets of asbury, no nead to pay touristy homage to them...but it does
not suprise me, you are full of Sh#&y ideas...when are you going to learn that nobody is
listening to you and thank god that they are not...i for one could not be happier with the
direction of the redevelopment and I may be one of the only ones on this board who
actually live in town (for over 45 years)...been though the good and bad...i voted for
loffredo, sanders, and bruno and i will continue to vote for them until they are through
