Historic Preservation:
The combination of preservation and redevelopment in a historically significant
City such
as Asbury Park requires a delicate balance to keep progress moving. To this
end, Asbury
Partners has worked to preserve key structures and artifacts of historical
significance and
incorporate them into the City's redevelopment plan.

Specifically, Asbury Partners is committed to the historic restoration of
Convention Hall,
Paramount Theatre, The Power Plant and the green circular Carousel Building.
All are being
restored in accordance with the strict state historical preservation criteria.
The first task in
the preservation plan, the creation of a detailed survey of existing conditions
in each of
these buildings, has been completed. An historical architect is currently
designing a
renovation package for Convention Hall/Paramount Theatre, to be reviewed by the
Department of Environmental Protection. Plans also are being presented for the
Carousel
Building, the Arcade and the Power Plant Building.

Asbury Partners has demolished the city's Palace Amusements building, which was
deemed beyond repair. The famous "Tillie" clown face and bumper car images of
the
Palace were preserved in the process, and more than 40 artifacts were recovered
from
inside the building. Many will be used in the redevelopment.
