FEBRUARY 10TH
Developing low pressure ahead of an arctic cold front will develop
precipitation in the area tonight. When temps to near 50 today and in the 30s
tonight, precipitation will be in the form of rain at the start but as the
storm deepens offshore, colder air will be drawn in from the north and the
rain will mix with and change to snow. The changeover will occur before
morning over inland sections and at the coast around or just after daybreak.
Snow will continue through the morning and taper off the flurries around
midday. Total accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected region wide
although the higher end of the range has a higher probability over inland
sections and in northern NJ. Roadways should see just a slushy accumulation.
Although snow may end around Noon, flurries may continue on and off
through the afternoon and evening. With temps falling Saturday afternoon and
continue to fall to near 20 Saturday night, roadways could become slippery
Saturday night.
A cold day on Sunday will be followed by moderation early next week
