Hope now you are clear. I thought you are fully aware that the expired
passport need be enclosed with the new one always.Govt of India never looked at
the issue to stamp all details in the new passport.So best is stick the old one
at the back of new one.Like I am having. the pasport ofices here never advise
this vital thing!
Coming to India or Assam, since you are an Assamese, after landing at Delhi
or Mumbai( Delhi is best place) keep al your US citizen doc visa/passport etc
locked(if got relative at Delhi- leave there only) and travel like a local with
hindi-Assamese speaking. Never show you are american.No problem.This will ease
our all the tensions of taking permit or anything. Live like a normal
India/Axomiya.Lot do this useful tactice-Basicaly you are axomiya.Already we
are foreigner only!!!
