Actually, there is an internationally accepted definition of "terrorism" - it says, one who kills innocent civilians in pursuit of his goals - political or otherwise - is a terrorist.
Gandhi or Abe Lincoln don't fall into the category. The Jihadi scum of Kashmir that kill Amarnath yatris definitely do. So do those guys from the innumerous "liberation movement" types in the north-east that kill innocent civilians going to the market or normal middle class people not capable of giving in to extortion threats. >From: "Alpana Sarangapani" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: "Rajen Barua" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, ><[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >CC: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re: Detour From Dream >Date: Sun, 22 Sep 2002 23:47:25 -0500 > >Thanks Barua. > >So violence is a MUST in terrorism. >hmm! now lets see if any of these can be applied to the "terrorists" that >Chandan da had mentioned. > > > >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Rajen Barua" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; ><[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Sent: Sunday, September 22, 2002 11:31 PM >Subject: Re: Detour From Dream > > > > > > By definition, terrorists try to create terror by "destructive" means of >disrupting the normal functioning of govenment administration and civil and >business activities of the general public, and by killing innocent >civilians >if necessary in the process.
