Sometime ago I was looking for this information on all candidates in Khumtai. Finally I laid my hands on it. Others may want to know.
It may be noted that belying all uncertainties, AGP candidate Prabin Gogoi won the Khumtai bye poll defeating his nearest rival Congress candidate Lachit Phukan bye a margin of 3061 votes. The AGP candidate polled 28,714 against Congress candidate Lachit Phukan's 25,657. Others in the fray were BJP (3,445), Samata (1272), Sashi Tanti (2533), NCP (1,837).
