Lecture on �Assamese during Vaishnavaite age� at Kalakshetra

GUWAHATI, July 20 � The 14th of the series of lectures organised under the auspices of the Department of Literature, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, will be held at 3-30 pm on July 26 at the Kalakshetra auditorium. Renowned research scholar Prof Bhavaprasad Chaliha will deliver the lecture on the topic �The Assamese during the Vaishnavite age as reflected in the literature of Sankardev.� Former president of Asam Sahitya Sabha, Dr Nagen Saikia will preside over the meet. ...........................................
On the occasion of the death anniversary of Mahapurush Sankardev falling on August 29, the Kalakshetra Samaj is organising a series of contests on dihanaam, �ghosanaam� and �thiyonaam� (for women) and �thiyonaam� (for men). ......................................

We have seen 'Thionaam' performance by Bimal Rajbanshi's group in conventions. So I know something about Thionaam. How are the other two performed? Standing or sitting? Are the words in the Naams also different? What are the accompanying instruments?
